I headed out to Banner Marsh with my new camera. The purpose of the trip was two-fold: to scope out how much ice is left and to snap some "out doorsy" type shots. Much to my surprise, the ice was all gone. I ended up fishing most the time and not taking many pictures.
The fishing was pretty slow...seems to be the norm for early spring fishing. I did have a personal first. I was fishing and noticed a bunch of shad breaking the surface near by, so I tied on a shinny rooster tail and threw it in the middle of the shad. I'll be damned if I didn't snag an enormous (5-6") shad. I wish I had taken a picture as proof, but I didn't.
Here are a couple of the best shots out of the few I took.
