There is Always Live Bait

The weather was terrible, but I drove five hours and our cabin was on the lake. I was going to fish...windchill be damned!

Thanks to the above, my Wisconsin license to fish ratio is sitting at a hefty $51 per fish. I plan to take another crack at The Badger State in July and things can only get better.

  1. Reminds me of a few weekends ago...it was snowing, windy, and I spent all day trying to catch some stocker trout for dinner. Got them, but then went to the grocery store for potatoes. "Trout, $6.99 lbs." Looked at my fishing partner and said "those are damn expensive trout in the cooler."...oy...
Hope July treats you better. But man, that looks like a nice bass!

  2. I'm thinking in July with the warmer weather, your fish will come. Some big ones, I would bet.

  3. We are all hoping for July!! Out West...the rivers won't calm down until then with the huge runoff...I'm sure that you can get that price down before the license needs renewal! Maybe $5.10???

  8. On the bright side a $51 fish is better than a $51 skunk!

Clif reserves the right to delete your comment if he is so inclined, but he is a pretty liberal guy so post away and see what happens.
