Sixty-Six Percent

I set out on a kayak with four pound mono, in search of goal number two. During the fight I knew that goal was mine...confidence waned when I set eyes on the fish.

If the fight from this two pounder is any indication, I may be in trouble should I find a three. Good thing my drag is turned all the way down properly adjusted.

PS, like the new blog header?

  1. Good luck on that goal, and yes - the header looks real good. Nice job.

  2. I like the new header! But then, I like most of what goes on around Lunker Hunt. :-)

  3. @Casey & Mike: thank you much. I've got a couple things with the header to touch up. MORE rain today so I'll have plenty of time.

  6. Okay, the header looks great...very classy looking for you. I think a 3 lb bass is doable. Are you man enough to get it done? Stay tuned as The Lunker Turns!

  7. I dig the new header, but maybe a popper instead of a Texas rigged worm?
Kelly and I should be fishing the Kankakee River next Tuesday if all goes as planned. Not sure when we'll get there, but it will be late afternoon... probably around 5... just in case you wanna take off work early and come catch some Smallies with us. We'll probably stop back by on our way back home too.

  8. @Brookfeeled, Sanders and Cosifher: finding a three pounder is not problem. Bringing to hand will be the trick.

@Jay: Tuesday is a no go as I'll be in route from Missouri to Wisconsin. Maybe on your way back throw? Find my e-mail address on the contact page for quicker correspondence. Best of luck, I'm not sure about the Kankakee but most our rivers have been blown out since april.

  11. @Lola The Picture Taker: That fish doesn't know how good he has it when he gets caught by me. I have gentle hands.

  12. Clif, if this photo is evidence of your gentle hands, remind me to never piss you off. *laugh*
